QR barcode readers are important cashier auxiliary tools for supermarkets in major retail industries. Its data collection function can help supermarket managers grasp the real-time sales of goods and synchronize the data of outbound and inbound storage in a timely manner.
The indicator light of the QR barcode reader has a good prompting effect in telling whether the QR barcode reader is in normal working condition. If we encounter an indicator light of the QR barcode reader not working, it may interfere with part of our normal work, but fortunately, Sunany has sufficient technical support in this regard. Today, let’s take a look at the reasons and solutions for the QR barcode reader light not being on.
Sunany has summarized that the indicator light may not be on when the QR barcode reader is scanning, which may be affected by multiple factors, mainly divided into barcode problems and scanner problems.
Problems with barcodes are generally quality problems, just like QR barcode readers that are not printed according to standard specifications, such as blurred lines, uneven spacing, and low color contrast, which will lead to scanning failures and may cause the QR barcode reader to fail to light up the indicator light. In addition, damage and stains on the barcode will also cause the code to be unable to be scanned and the indicator light to be off.
If dust, oil, or scratches accumulate on the lens surface of the QR barcode reader, it will affect the work of the laser or camera, resulting in scanning failure and the indicator light not lighting up. After daily use, we use a microfiber cloth to wipe the lens to clean dust and oil.
In addition, if the USB port of the QR barcode reader is not plugged in tightly during use, the QR barcode reader will not work properly, and the indicator light will not light up. Please check whether the interface is plugged in tightly before use.
If there is a problem with the hardware of the QR barcode reader, the indicator light will not light up. For example, if the scanning engine is damaged, and if it is still within the warranty period, you can find the manufacturer to repair it. Once the warranty period has expired, it is best to replace a new QR barcode reader, because the scanning engine is the most expensive part of the entire QR barcode reader, and it is not cost-effective to repair it alone.
If the indicator light does not light up when the QR barcode reader is working, Sunany recommends going to the corresponding barcode system to check whether the scanned barcode is damaged or using other barcodes to test whether it is a barcode problem or a QR barcode reader problem.
