When viewing the Sunany Windows POS machine specification, you will see the parameters of the base frequency and burst frequency of the processor. These parameters are not created by Sunany, but from the manufacturer of the processor: Intel.
Processors of POS machines don’t always need to run at their maximum frequency. On the contrary, for POS software, most of the time the processor runs at the base frequency when handling light workloads, and jump to burst frequency for heavy workloads when needed. This is Intel Turbo Boost Technology that is a way to automatically run the processor core faster than the marked frequency, it is also an energy-efficient solution.
Running at a lower clock rate allows the processor to use less power, which can reduce heat and positively impact life in POS machines. But when more speed is needed, Intel® Turbo Boost Technology dynamically increases the clock rate to compensate. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology can potentially increase processor speeds up to the Max Turbo Frequency while staying within the safe temperature and power limits.
Both the base frequency and the burst frequency of the processor are important factors when selecting Windows POS hardware. But what is suitable is the best. Excessive pursuit of parameters may cause performance waste and increase costs. Too low parameters may cause the POS software to fail to work well.
