Sunany understands how frustrating it can be when your POS system suddenly loses Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity — especially when your cashier order system is critical to keeping operations moving.
This issue often occurs after the terminal wakes from sleep mode and can be caused by Windows power settings, outdated drivers, or background services not restarting properly. While it’s common, the good news is: it’s usually easy to fix.
Here are four effective methods recommended by Sunany’s technical team to restore wireless connectivity and keep your cashier order system running smoothly:
1. Restart Key Network Services
Often, simply restarting a couple of background services is enough to get things working again.
Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter
Locate WLAN AutoConfig and Bluetooth Support Service
Right-click each and select Restart
If a service is stopped, select Start
This quick fix often resolves connectivity problems without needing to dig deeper.
2. Update or Roll Back Wireless Drivers
Wireless drivers — especially after a Windows update — may become unstable and impact the performance of your cashier order system.
Open Device Manager
Expand Network Adapters and Bluetooth
Right-click the adapter and select Update Driver
If problems started after a recent update, go to Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver
Sunany always recommends using drivers directly from your hardware manufacturer, not generic Windows versions, for better compatibility and reliability.
3. Disable Power Saving for Wireless Devices
Windows sometimes disables wireless modules during sleep to conserve energy — but this can cause them to not reconnect afterward.
In Device Manager, right-click your Wi-Fi or Bluetooth adapter
Select Properties > Power Management
Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”
Click OK, and restart if needed
This adjustment ensures that your cashier order system maintains connectivity, even during idle moments.
4. Tweak Advanced Power Settings
Customizing power settings helps reduce disconnections and improves long-term stability.
Go to Control Panel > Power Options, then select Change plan settings
Click Change advanced power settings
Under Wireless Adapter Settings, set both modes to Maximum Performance
Under USB Settings, disable USB selective suspend
These changes help keep USB-connected peripherals — like scanners or receipt printers — from shutting down unexpectedly.
At Sunany, we don’t just build POS hardware — we help our partners keep it running at its best. Whether you’re using a compact POS terminal or a full-featured cashier order system, the right setup and maintenance go a long way in preventing wireless issues and ensuring a seamless checkout experience.
